NPD

What is NPD?

NPD is an abbreviation for Narcissistic Personality Disorder, a very serious form of narcissism. People with NPS leave a trail of mental destruction in their lives. Long after they themselves have exchanged the temporal for the eternal, the consequences will be present in their victims.

Different forms of narcissism

Narcissism comes in different degrees. In fact, everyone is a little bit narcissistic. That is completely normal because you cannot live without self-love. But when self-love becomes pathological, we speak of a Narcissistic Personality Disorder. The person with NPD is also often referred to as just a narcissist for convenience, although not every narcissist necessarily needs to “suffer” from NPD.

NB: I have put suffering in quotes because it is not the narcissist who suffers but his or her victims.

Recognizing Narcissism

Contrary to popular belief, not every narcissist is easy to spot. Not all narcissists are boastful attention grabbers. The chance that you know someone with a Narcissistic Personality Disorder unknowingly is even huge! They can profoundly disrupt, even destroy, your life if you develop a close relationship with them. Therefore, inform yourself well because knowledge is power!
